Amber Lee Zug is the owner and groomer behind Chien d'amour, the salon most people around St. Marys simply call Amber's dog grooming. A lifelong dog owner, she has more than 10 years of professional experience in grooming, dog services, and dog shows. That experience taught her that no two dogs are exactly alike. Every dog has a different coat, personality, comfort level, and grooming routine.
Chien d'amour was created to offer a more personal alternative to high‑volume salons. It is an upscale boutique where each dog receives focused, one‑on‑one attention in a calmer environment, with an approach built on patience, quality, communication, and grooming that fits the individual dog rather than rushing every dog through the same process.
Amber personally hires every groomer who works at Chien d'amour. Each one is an experienced professional, held to the standards she brings home from the competition ring. She also operates our sister company, Woodlands Pet Retreat, an owner‑operated boarding and day‑stay facility in St. Marys.
